Happy 4th!!

Wishing you and your family a happy 4th of July!! (even though today is July 3rd:)) I know I (Carrinton) won't be doing a post tomorrow, because I am going to Clear Lake with a friend!

Just remember, the 4th of July is a time to celebrate the day when our country became free, and by celebrating, I mean, fireworks, sparklers, boating, spending time with family and friends, sitting around a fire, roasting s'mores, etc.. The list goes on and on! I know I will be doing every single thing on that list I just made, and I hope you get to, too!

You can't celebrate the 4th of July without food! (THERE IS NOOOO WAY) So, since I LOVE food I will give you one of my recipes! Keep reading even if you don't need a recipe!! There is a reminder at the bottom!!
My recipe:
Don't these just shout festive?1?1 I made these last year for the 4th and they were a hit!'

I just want to point something out: I am not going to give my sugar cookie recipe out. I am pretty sure almost everyone has a "Perfect Sugar Cookie", recipe just like I do.. So on my "Shopping List" below, it will say sugar cookies.. That is just saying you need to bake sugar cookies!

Shopping List:
*Sugar Cookies
*White Frosting (butter-cream frosting is also a delicious option)
*Blue and Red gel frosting (comes in a tube at Hy-Vee or Fareway)
*Toothpicks

Instructions:
1. Bake your sugar cookies according to your recipe
2. Frost your sugar cookie with the white frosting or butter-cream
3. Make circles going around the cookie with the gel
4.Take your toothpick and drag it from end to end
5. ENJOY!!!

I hope you understand my instructions!:)

Reminder:
Hanna and I need table setting ideas!! Read yesterday's post to learn more!! If you have "country table setting ideas", e-mail us here: duckyandhan@gmail.com

Happy 4th of July!!
