I (Carrinton) am also gone several Friday nights because of football games:) You know my love of football;) Our high school team is really good this year! I think we are 7-0 or 8-0. I forget, but anyways, all that matters is that we are undefeated! I really think it is quite sad that football season and volleyball season is just about over! Time has flown by:( You wanna know what is super crazy?? Our last game of volleyball is this coming Thursday and our first basketball practice is at the end of the month! I don't think I am quite ready for basketball yet.
Some more good news is that I shot my second buck! I shot it on the first day I went out. So I am unfortunately done hunting until December, which I am super happy I shot a deer, but I am crazy sad that I'm done. I think I might shoot a doe in late season muzzleloader though:) I bet you guys are dying to see a picture and hear the story aren't you?! I will show you the pic first and then tell the story.
Here it is!! And just in case you are deer people, this deer is 10 points, and we think he scored about 145-150 (Much bigger than the first one, I was pumped!)
On to the story: My dad and I decided to go hunt youth season on a Saturday, September 28th (a day after homecoming) Dad told his friend that he would be ticked if I shot a deer that day because he didn't have a place to store it, he also said but if she shoots one, I will call you. We got out there at about 4:30ish. It was a reallllyyyy slow day. At around 5:30 (take note this is at night) we saw 7 toms!!! I was oh so tempted:) at 6:15 we still hadn't seen deer, then a trophy wood chuck came to us at about 10 yards, again I just about shot it when I saw a doe around 6:30 at about 7:05 this buck came out at about 80 yards. He wasn't broadsided, which means the deer is standing so you have a perfect shot at the heart. I shot him and my dad said he heard the bullet hit the deer, but he wasn't sure if I would have killed him since he wasn't broadsided. I was so confident in my shot though, I knew right where I hit him (right behind his right shoulder) Well, we called my dad's friend, and we saw a really good blood trail at the back of the field leaning in to the ravine. We searched in the dark for him, it was to dark. The next morning we found him dead and sitting at towards the bottom of the deepest ravine around:))) My shot was right on. I hit him right where I said I did. It went right through the right shoulder and through both lungs (perfect shot) There is my story!!
Now on to some "Must have" items I think you need:
1. Gap's Soft Tees- These are perfect for fall. They come in a variety of colors and are super soft. I have 5 of them and I think you need some too! Click here if you would like to purchase these "perfect shirts"!
2. Essie Over the Edge- This is probably on of my favorite colors. It is like a dark shimmery grey or more of a gun metal black. It is so pretty! (I bought mine at Target, but if you want to order it click here.
3. I love my new leopard scarf. My mom bought it at Younkers for me, so I can't find a link. But, this is cute too.. (I linked you to Nordstrom.com so you will have to find it under women's scarves!)
I know this was a super long post, but we haven't blogged for a while, so I think you needed to know a little bit!:)
Have a good Sunday!
