If some of you didn't know Hanna and I (Carrinton) showed cattle this year. I wanted to write this post so we didn't end up behind.
Hanna showed cow/calf and needed somebody to show the calf, so I did! This may seem wierd, but I am going to be honest. My biggest fear of showing the calf was tripping!! Hanna thought that was ridiculous, but it was true. But in the end, everything worked out great! (and I didn't trip!!) The cow and the calf cooperated wonderful!! We got Grand Champion too!! For me, I think this whole experience was a learning experience. (Thanks to Hanna and her cousin's girlfriend, I did great and I didn't trip!) Below are some pictures that my mom took. Hanna's mom took some too, so I don't know, but maybe Hanna could post some of the ones her mom took:)
This is a picture of Hanna and I leading the cow and calf in to the ring.
We are rubbing the cow's stomach to keep them calm.
Setting up the cow's feet.
I am staring at the judge.
Hanna is staring at the judge.
We look so serious!! We have to make eye contact with the judge at ALL TIMES!
This picture is basically the same as the one above:)
All in all I had a GREAT time and maybe I will show a steer next year;)
I have one more picture. First I will explain! I brought a project to fair this year. My project was a babysitting kit, (since I babysit A LOT and LOVE IT!) My project made it to state fair!! I am so excited! Below is the picture of the tub and all the contents of my babysitting kit.
Here it is!!
Hope you enjoy the pics!!
